Moments of Maturity
I think everyone can probably relate to where I am going with this. There has to come a time for everyone where you finally realize that you are growing up, or "getting old", as I like to call it. You have graduated from school, you're working full time, and you're starting to find more things in common with your parents then you ever thought possible. I think all of these things play a big factor in realizing that you are maturing. I have just started to realize this in the past couple months.
For example, my girlfriend was married this summer. I have been to many weddings over the years but this was the first one that I attended where the bride was the same age as me! But that wasn't my most significant "maturing moment". That happened last weekend when my girlfriend was over to visit and brought a veggie dip with her. It was really good so I asked her where she got it from. She replied that she had made it and said, "I will send you the recipe."
Now, I am not sure what it was that scared me more -- the fact that we were at the stage where we were starting to "send recipes" or the fact that I was actually excited to have the recipe.
I think I am just getting old.
