If you haven't heard of it, you gotta check it out. If you have heard of it, and use it quite often, please excuse my newbie status on this one. I have recently discovered and have become somewhat addicted to Last.fm – The Social Music Revolution. If you are into music like I am, you'll really, really, appreciate this site.
Last.fm is a great way to have someone (or should I say something) else choose the type music you are in the mood for and play it for hours on end for free. It is also a great way to discover new bands & indie talent that you have never heard of. How does it work? You type in an artist that you feel like listening to and Last.fm will stream not only that artist, but artists that are very similar to that artist, in stereo right to your computer. And yes, it's for free! As it streams, it also displays the artist overview/bio and their current status of touring with...

Warning. Like many of my conversations, the following tends to ramble on and lead no where. Enjoy the ride, you were forewarned.
I was raised on a carnival. Not born on one, simply raised, which I realize sounds just as bad. For whatever reason, my father bought a carnival when I was about 10 years old, complete with rides and trailers and game and food concessions. He had a well paying job with the government at the time, so what possessed him to go out and buy a carnival is beyond me, and to this date no clear explanation has ever been offered. So, at the tender age of 10, my siblings and I became, without much say in the matter, Carnies, traveling from town to town.
Now blow past that image of Carnies that just popped in to your head. We weren't anything like that. Well, not entirely. Back then none of us had any tattoos, we had a health plan and, most importantly, we had all of...

I was going to start my next BLOG about a more relevant TV topic for our new website (Mad Men). But then, just like just about every other Monday night at 10pm I found myself watching The Hills with my wife. I tell myself (& my wife & my friends) that I suffer through this as part of a spousal trade-off for my addiction to Entourage. But to be totally honest, I don't think I have missed an episode. Is it my need to try and hang on to my youth, the hot girls or just the cheesy scripted reality of it all? After thinking about it more, I believe it is the 'cultural-cool' factor and the pure marketing genius of it all – or it is my hate for Spencer – one or the other.
When you think about it from a marketing standpoint, it really is brilliant, a fantastic example of marketing content integration. It has become the launching pad for countless Indie bands, fashion labels (including Lauren...

You heard me. The Matrix is real, and it's much cooler than the one in the movies. In fact, the real matrix is so cool that people around the world spent more than 175 million dollars last year just to stay plugged in. Admittedly the computer generated dream world that I am talking about isn't actually called "The Matrix", but is instead referred to as "MMORPG".
If you don't know what an "MMORPG" is, don't worry. It's a geek term, like "e-mail" used to be a geek term. For now, let's just say it's the most instantly gripping, involving and demanding entertainment technology ever invented. The addiction rate appears to be about twice that of crack. It's an infection, it's a tsunami, it's a volcanic eruption. All at the same time, waiting, like a nest of plague-infested rats next to a ticking hydrogen bomb in an underwater volcano. Or, something. What I'm trying to say is, it's the...

I think everyone can probably relate to where I am going with this. There has to come a time for everyone where you finally realize that you are growing up, or "getting old", as I like to call it. You have graduated from school, you're working full time, and you're starting to find more things in common with your parents then you ever thought possible. I think all of these things play a big factor in realizing that you are maturing. I have just started to realize this in the past couple months.
For example, my girlfriend was married this summer. I have been to many weddings over the years but this was the first one that I attended where the bride was the same age as me! But that wasn't my most significant "maturing moment". That happened last weekend when my girlfriend was over to visit and brought a veggie dip with her. It was really good so I asked her where she got it...
